Sub:   Innovative and Experimental Scheme

Sir/Madam,

            I am directed to state that the Department of Elementary Education and Literacy has been implementing a scheme called “Innovative and Experimental Scheme” for the children between the age group of 6-14 years through Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).

2.         The Grants-in-aid Committee (GIAC) for Innovative and Experimental Scheme its meeting held on 26^th May 2005 has decided that a proposal of NGO under I&E Scheme would be supported only for two years by the GOI and after which, the project could be continued or up scaled, if required, by a decision of the State GIAC of the SSA or can be discontinued for lack of efficiency.

3.                  The decision is circulated for information to all State Project Directors.
